Glen Ridge Post Office

On the map  the town of Glen Ridge, New Jersey is just below Montclair on the southbound, Bloomfied Avenue, route to Newark. That road is said to trace what was once an old Indian trail. It explains more generally the seemingly random direction of roads around these parts; Indian trails and cattle tracks.

The Glenn Ridge post office was dedicated in 1939. It is a little jewel of a place with a staff that is very helpful and friendly. Sort of a place where everyone knows your name, kind of thing.

They gave me permission to take a couple of photos recently. The first image is my ever so slightly improved view of their magnificent mural depicting the immediate area in a bygone time. The second image is a detail of the dedication day post card for the Post Office with the date stamp.
