Dr. Ford: Violated Herself?

As I've read it, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford sent a letter to Senator Dianne Feinstein alleging sexual misconduct by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Specifically requesting her story be kept confidential.

Well, it's anything but confidential now.

I'm wondering, since so much has been made about the high level professional credentials/educational excellence of Dr. Ford, what she was intending with her wanting to have her name/story kept confidential? Float an accusation, and not be asked to testify?

Further wondering, if she wanted to be kept out of the process, why she bothered to report the incident in the first place. [Don't tell me she thought it was her civic duty to at least put something out there. Remain anonymous? Right. Remember how smart she's supposed to be?]

Then, of course, there's the matter of how this all started in July, but took until mid-September to become a thing in the committee process considering that Bad Boy Brett. Well, alleged. But, a lot of us have already made him out to be the harbinger of the Apocalypse. Once a horn dog, always a horn dog. [Speaking of myself, of course ... make that speaking "for" myself.]
