Yesterday at Home Depot:

There was a long line to get to the cashier. When our turn came we walked forward toward the cashier station only to be stopped and questioned if we were in line. [Apparently, they're hyper vigilant on making sure everyone is in line.] After a bit of back and forth we were waved through. Someone said that there was a sign for staying in line and waiting to be called. I didn't recall seeing that.

I went back to the sign and found the instruction was posted on the back of the sign. On the back ... where you couldn't see it from in the cue.

I called over a worker and attempted to point out that you couldn't see the sign since the instruction was pasted on the back. He insisted that I move on, wouldn't hear it from me. I insisted that I had something I wanted to say to him. After a flurry of attempts to get through, I said what I had to say. His response: "Let's not get into semantics." [Rather intelligent response for such a stupid situation.]

When I took the est Training I learned about the components of an upset: 1. Unfulfilled expectation. 2. Thwarted intention. 3. Undelivered communication.

I hit the trifecta. Interesting how my inner state — feeling strongly blocked energy — matched the outer scenario.

LESSON: The Universe never gives up on offering opportunities to practice the Dharma.
